TIST provides the infrastructure necessary to bring other critical improvements to the local area.

For example in Mpwapwa, Tanzania TIST is developing health education and has implemented computer training programs. Public health problems in Mpwapwa range from rampant HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis to water-borne illnesses due to unclean water.

Health education training can now be provided to the groups with TIST support. Moreover, the TIST office now provides computer access and training to local youth, on basic computer operations, word processing, and the Internet.

Other projects will include improving the local water supply, including increasing quantity for irrigation and quality for drinking.
